Enjoy the Privacy of Hacienda Del Sol in Taos
I was a little worried that we might not be conveniently located to the downtown area, but we were just a short drive away, and there was a great casual pizza place, Taos Pizza Out Back, practically across the street where we ate one night.
Yes, you can find romance here, a respite from the grind in an artistic setting that will inspire you. Our room featured a bath with hand-painted Mexican Talavera sinks and tiles, but what set it apart was the artistic expression found in the layout of the tile. Blue flying bird tiles in the shower were grouped to instantly bring to mind a real flock of birds. A detail I will not soon forget. There were also some Native American artifacts displayed in the room giving historical relevance to our stay and made us feel not as if you were being “lodged,” but as if we were actually staying at a friend’s house. Owners Gerd and Luellen Hertel have done a wonderful job.
Other amenities that we unfortunately did not get to partake in include complimentary state-of-the-art health club privileges with tennis and racquetball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, yoga, and aerobic classes. WI-FI is currently available throughout the Inn. Because of our busy schedule we did not get to enjoy the sumptuous breakfast that comes with your stay. But I know we’ll be back soon, it was too lovely there not to return.
While the Inn has been highly lauded by USA Today and Sunset Magazine, such high accolades are only dressing once you’ve spent just one night here, and your own remonstrations will be what passes the word along. Enjoy--
