And They Say Times are Hard

Last week's Sotheby's Contemporary Art Evening Sale saw over $190 Million pass hands, far exceeding the $168 million estimate. The sale included a Warhol self-portrait from the last of the series before his death, which sold for $32.6 million, a Rothko red canvas that sold for $31.4 million, and a Pollock painting on paper. And what's more a number of new collectors came onto the scene. Of the fifty-three works up for auction, only three failed to sell.

So, maybe things are looking up....
