The Wonderful Life

In the late nineteenth century, painters in Europe and the United States discovered a ready audience for images of the leisure class enjoying the wonderful life. As weekends and holidays became an essential part of the human experience, it stimulated artistic expression. Today, this painting, "Portrait of Giovinetta Errazuriz" by Italian artist Giovanni Boldini (1842-1931), and part of the Manoogian Collection, hangs in the hallway of The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI. Richard A. Manoogian is an industrialist from the Detroit area.
